One of the things that can make a mediocre movie into a great movie is the use of sound effects.  No one wants to pay to use these though, but you also don't want to use ones that sound terrible and take away from the quality of your movie as a result.  Here's a list of sites that I use to get sound effects to use in my movies:

1.  www.freesound.org  - This is by far the largest and best source of free sound effects that I have found on my
travels through the interwebs.  It requires you to register by giving your e-mail address
but the whole purpose of the site is high quality sounds that are given for free so you'll
excellent files to download.  Whence you're registered, just right click and click
Save As or just click the Download box and put it in your movie.

2. Youtube  -                  If you have a Flash Video Downloader and AoA Audio Extractor, you can just use those to
download a sound effect.  If you need to, you can edit the sound effect in your video
editor or use a free program like audacity to edit the sound file.

3. www.a1freesoundeffects.com -  This site is similar to Freesound but not quite as extensive and with slightly less
quality files.  To download files just right click and click Save Target As
